Uvalde EMS was founded in the 1970's as a volunteer organization & over the years we have progressed to a paid service with a few volunteers. In addition to providing EMS for the city and county, we provide non-emergent transports for Uvalde Memorial Hospital. As well as, ambulance stand-bys for events & transfers for patients to their appointments.
The tragedy that struck our community on May 24 has opened our eyes to make us realize that we need more resources to fund our communication abilities. We need enough radios for each medic responding to be able to communicate with dispatch individually if they are separated from their partner. Communication during times of distress can save more lives. Amanda Shoemake has set up this fundraiser & the proceeds from your purchase will help with the costs of purchasing more radios for our station.
